Rainey’s After School @ Pivot Program Expands: Adding Friday Programming and K-2nd grade “Art Adventures” to the west-side.

We’re thrilled to announce two major expansions to Rainey’s After School@Pivot program that reflect our commitment to enriching student experiences and supporting working families in our community.

Five Days of Learning and Fun

Starting January 12th, families will have access to extended programming as Rainey’s After School @ Pivot will run five days a week. This exciting expansion addresses the ongoing need for quality after-school care and gives students more opportunities to engage in meaningful activities, build friendships, and develop new skills throughout the week.

“We understand how important an extra day of providing a safe, nurturing environment is to working families.” says Marcella Brown, Executive Director of Rainey Institute.

To further support families’ schedules, we’ve also extended our pick-up hours to 6:00 pm, providing greater flexibility for working parents. We understand that juggling after-school programming with work commitments can be challenging, and this extended window helps ensure that more families can take advantage of the enrichment opportunities we offer.

Art Adventures: A New Creative Journey Begins at Pivot in February

If expanding our hours wasn’t exciting enough, we’re introducing “Art Adventures,” our popular exploration program launching in February. Designed specifically for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students, Art Adventures offers young learners the chance to experience a diverse range of artistic disciplines in an engaging, hands-on environment.

Each day of the Art Adventures program features a different artistic focus, allowing students to explore dance, drama, music, and visual art. This rotating format ensures that children are exposed to multiple forms of creative expression, helping them discover new interests and develop confidence in different artistic areas.

The beauty of Art Adventures lies in its integrated approach to arts education. Rather than specializing in a single medium, students enjoy the freedom to move between disciplines, experiencing how dance connects to music, how visual art can tell a story, and how drama brings imagination to life. This comprehensive exposure helps develop well-rounded creative thinkers during crucial developmental years.
