Cavs and Cleveland Museum of Art Unite to Support Rainey

Rainey will receive $10,000 donation from the Cleveland Cavaliers & The Cleveland Museum of Art

Cleveland, OH – The Cleveland Cavaliers, in partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Art, announced today a $10,000 donation to the Rainey Institute. This generous gift will support the Institute’s vital mission of providing art education and experiences to youth in Northeast Ohio.

The donation was made in conjunction with the unveiling of the Cavaliers’ 2024-25 Nike NBA City Edition uniforms. The unique design celebrates the rich history and cultural diversity of Cleveland, and the partnership with the Cleveland Museum of Art underscores the team’s commitment to the community.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Cavaliers and to the Cleveland Museum of Art, not only for this investment, but for continuing to inspire and uplift our young people through the power of the arts and expression,” said Brandon Lipford, Director of Arts Education at the Rainey Institute. “This investment is going to help us continue to provide and make sure high quality arts education is accessible to our young people here in Cleveland.”

Lipford delivered a heartfelt speech at the unveiling event, highlighting the importance of art education and the positive impact it can have on young lives. He emphasized how the donation will enable Rainey Institute to provide high-quality art classes, workshops, and field trips to underserved youth in the region.

The Rainey Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting art education and cultural enrichment, has been a cornerstone of the Cleveland community for over 100 years. Through its diverse range of programs, the Institute empowers young people to develop their creativity, critical thinking skills, and self-expression.
