Summer Camp Artwork on Display for CLE Earth Day Event
CLEVELAND, OH – City Hall Rotunda
This past summer, Cleveland mixed media artist Ron Shelton, illuminated Rainey Summer Campers to the devastating impact plastic is having on our environment. The campers participated in a plastic upcycling project that culminated into a beautiful, massive tapestry.
While the tapestry normally makes it’s home in the Lobby at Rainey Institute, Mr. Shelton will be exhibiting the incredible plastic mat tapestries at Sustainable Cleveland’s “Every day is Earth Day”, an exhibition for the upcoming Earth Month celebration series. The event will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cleveland City Hall Rotunda.
There is no cost for this event, but registration is limited. Register Here

The Finished Product
This wonderful plastic tapestry was created by the students; each individual mat was sewn together. The tapestry was hung in the lobby.
